Kispiox Valley Outfitters

Kispiox Valley Outfitters in Smithers, BC

Kispiox Valley Outfitters is located in Northwest British Columbia in the town of Smithers. We are approximately 260 km northeast of Prince Rupert and 420 km northwest of Prince George, in the beautiful Kispiox River Valley. (see Google Map Link Below)

The Kispiox Valley is completely surrounded by mountains, the Babine Mountain Range to the east, the Hazelton Mountain Range to the west, the Bulkley Mountain Range to the south and the Skeena Mountain Range to the north, which makes the Kispiox River Valley a magnificent hunting and fishing destination.

Our guided hunting and viewing area in the Kispiox Valley contains several rivers widely know for their steelhead and salmon runs. In fact the Kispiox River itself is designated as a trophy river by British Columbia for it's world class native steelhead. It also offers excellent runs of coho salmon, rainbow, cutthroat and dolly varden trout.

The Kispiox Valley is located in Northwest British Columbia at approximately 55° 21 minutes N-Latitude and 127° 41 minutes W-Longitude. This section of British Columbia observes daylight saving time in the Pacific Time Zone. We feel it is important for prospective hunters to be aware that being located this far north we experience long days in the summer and long nights in the winter.

We want you to have an enjoyable time with us so we want to help you understanding our climate. The weather during our spring typically is still unpredictable. Temperatures average between 5 to 13 degrees Celsius.

The weather in late summer for our August hunts is quite moderate with average temperatures running about 12 degrees Celsius with little to no precipitation. However as we enter into the fall seasons, temperatures begin to drop and begin to average around 0 degrees Celsius. The precipitation begins to change from rain to snow. We highly recommend you watch the weather if you are hunting in the fall and have provided our Area Forecast link for your convenience. We've also provided you a helpful list of what to bring.

Whether you are flying or driving to your hunt you will need to complete a Canadian Custom Firearms Declaration Form. For more information and to obtain a copy of the form click here: Canadian Firearms Page. We suggest you read through the documentation carefully to ensure your entry into Canada is pleasant and without incident.

If you've chosen a Fly-in Camp hunt, then you'll need to know that there are weight limit restrictions as well as firearm containment restrictions. You will be boarding a small aircraft at Smithers which will fly you to your remote camp. Being a small aircraft it has limited cargo space therefore each individual will be restricted to only 60 lbs in addition, all weapon cases must be of soft flexible material, no hard cases will be allowed. Remember we are here to help you, if you have any concerns about your baggage or gear email or call us.
